Paramilitary Congregations

Paramilitary groups are generally militarized people, usually veterans of war and mercenaries who’ve stuck to a clan, that provide a plethora of services for any paying individual or government. They can be found as contracted police forces, assault corps, Planetary defense organizations in times of war, and so on. They are usually led by a specific person who has seen their fair share of combat in times before, usually leading their groups as a general of some sort.

Paramilitary groups typically work through contacts providing military might in exchange for money, arms, reputation, personnel, or more. Some groups are numbered in the hundreds or thousands, others in dozens or less. Paramilitary groups are not illegal in most places, and sometimes allow individuals to take on personal contracts while others forbid it. There are many rules that ensure the high command, the officers, and the grunts are doing what they are supposed to. Failure to comply to rules can call for paramilitary discharge, exile, or even death depending on the severity of one’s actions. These groups usually have foot soldiers, scouts, medics, leaders, mechanics, engineers, and access to vehicles of the air, land, and sea as well as starships.
